Shop Safety
Never use a machine until your teacher has checked you off on it.
General rules
- Wear safety glasses the whole time you are in the shop, not just at machines.
- Tie back long hair. Remove loose jewelry and tuck in or remove loose clothing.
- Walk, don't run. Keep the floor and your work area clear.
- Only one person operates a machine at a time. Stay out of the safety zone around someone else's machine.
- Report every injury, no matter how small, to the teacher right away.
- Report damaged or dull tools. Don't try to fix a machine yourself.
- Clean up your station before you leave.
